About Elmpoint Bookkeeping
Rooted in Generations of Small Business Success
Elmpoint Bookkeeping isn’t just a business—it’s the result of a lifetime immersed in entrepreneurship.

In the 1970s, my grandfather opened a photography studio and camera shop, capturing memories while helping others do the same. When he retired in the 1980s, my parents took over, making it their life’s work. It was my dad’s first and only job, and it became the backdrop of my childhood. My sister and I grew up in that shop, learning the value of hard work, family, and the resilience it takes to run a small business.

Today, that same shop has survived film’s transition to digital, the rise of smartphones, recessions, and even a global pandemic. It’s now a three-generation family business that continues to support our family. My sister works there alongside my parents, and while I’ve gone down a different path, the lessons I learned in that shop are the foundation of Elmpoint Bookkeeping.

Early Start, Lifelong Passion
My first job was keeping the books for a small business in our town—and I wasn’t even out of high school yet! That early experience taught me the importance of clear, accurate financial records, especially for small businesses where every dollar matters.

Later, I joined a consulting company with millions in revenue, only to find complex and outdated systems that were desperately in need of attention. No matter how big or small, the challenges were the same: gaps between services, inefficiencies in systems, and the need for someone to take the chaos and turn it into clarity.

A Decade of Experience Supporting Entrepreneurs
When I met my husband, he was just starting his entrepreneurial journey. I jumped in to help, managing his operations and finances while he focused on building his business. For nearly ten years, I wore every hat imaginable—handling bookkeeping, admin, and the day-to-day tasks that keep a business running.

I’ve lived the long hours, the tight deadlines, and the endless list of responsibilities that come with running a small business. I’ve also seen how vital it is to have someone you can trust to handle the details, so you can focus on the big picture.

The Spark Behind Elmpoint Bookkeeping
Over the years, I’ve worked for and alongside businesses of all shapes and sizes:
-
A 50-year-old family-run shop with deep roots and old traditions.
-
Startups trying to land their first client.
-
Established companies with millions in revenue but inefficient systems.
The common thread? The gaps between services and systems. Most small businesses can’t afford to hire a catch-all role (or find the unicorn to fill it) or pay multiple specialized professionals to sit on standby most of the time. That’s where Elmpoint Bookkeeping comes in.

We fill those gaps with tailored, practical solutions that take the pain out of financial and administrative management. Whether it’s handling your books, managing payroll, or bridging the gaps in your operations, we’re here to help.
